Abstract

This project inventories and analyzes a set of documents present in the Ubiratan D'Ambrosio Archive, dating back to the period in which D'Ambrosio worked in the United States (1964-1972). A person internationally recognized as the creator of Ethnomathematics, he was an eminent figure in several areas, like the History of Mathematics and the History of Sciences. Added to this are your contributions to interdisciplinary studies, mobilizing different scientific disciplines and cultural, social, and educational aspects. The present project, using references from the historiographic field, including, among others, the works of Chartier (2016), Latour (2000), and Sirinelli (2003), seeks to answer the question: "Which social networks have been constructed by Ubiratan D'Ambrosio during his work in the United States (1964-1972)?" Has, by hypothesis, that such networks favor the establishment of this teacher as an international reference for research in Mathematics Education in Brazil.
