Abstract

Among the care provided in the Neonatal Unit, bathing must be seen with diligence, ascan cause changes in the clinical stability, temperature and cortisol levels of thenewborn. In practice, there is a fragmentation of care related to bathing,highlighting the need for more effective educational practices with the teaching teamnursing. We believe in the potential of educational videos associated with clinical simulationto bring about changes in practice and contribute to the acquisition of knowledge. OThis study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of an educational video about bathingof the newborn in bed through clinical simulation, comparing the practice of thenursing after viewing the educational video in an expository class with the practice ofnursing team after a lecture without watching the video. It is atested clinical trial that will be carried out in two teaching hospitals with professionalsof nursing in maternal and child units. Nursing team professionalswill be randomly divided into two groups: experimental group: with video exposureeducational and control group: without exposure to the educational video. After class with and withoutexhibition of the educational video, an in situ clinical simulation will be applied on thenewborn in a neonatal unit. Data from instruments about the practice will be collected,satisfaction, self-efficacy and self-confidence of participants. The data will be submitted todescriptive analysis and the t-Student test will be applied to compare groups.
