Abstract

The Grupo de Inovação em Instrumentação Médica e Ultrassom (GIIMUS) has a history of scientific research dedicated to enhancing non-invasive technologies that combine magnetism, light, sound, and optics. Its achievements have resulted in the development and improvement of innovative technologies such as ultrasound elastography, photoacoustic ultrasound, magnetoacoustography (MAG), and biological tissue mimickers (phantoms). One of GIIMUS's current focuses is the thematic project "Development and implementation of new acoustic, magnetic, and optical techniques for diagnostic and therapeutic applications," centered on implementing a high-performance programmable ultrasound. GIIMUS's contributions have directly impacted clinical practice, providing healthcare professionals with more advanced and accurate tools. These innovations lead to substantial improvements in people's quality of life. In the context of the "Communicating Science" Call for Proposals, the dissemination of GIIMUS's results will reflect the significance of the research group, as well as the academic environment, in promoting health and technological advancements. It is noteworthy that the group is committed to actively sharing innovations, playing a crucial role in disseminating scientific and technological knowledge. This proposal aims to effectively communicate the results of GIIMUS's research to the general public and highlight the importance of its research lines for a significant improvement in the quality of life. Additionally, it seeks to train qualified human resources for interdisciplinary scientific communication.
