Abstract

This project aims to study Fiber Bragg Gratings (FBGs) and Tilted Fiber Bragg Gratings (TFBGs) inscribed in optical fibers and apply them in the development of new optical sensors. The initial part of the project involves optimizing the inscription procedure of the gratings and conducting initial measurements of mechanical stress and temperature. The second part of the project focuses on developing refractive index sensors for liquids and sensors for mapping the deformation of composite materials under mechanical tension. The study of composite materials will be carried out in collaboration with the IPF (Leibniz Institute of Polymer Research) in Dresden, Germany.
