Abstract

The postdoctoral research project aims to assess the actions and programs of sustainable rural development in federal settlements in the state of São Paulo, through participatory approaches with community organizations benefiting from the Sustainable Rural Development Program (PDRS), as well as to analyze perspectives for the improvement and articulation of public support policies. In total, there are 15 community organizations (cooperatives and associations) distributed in different regions of the state of São Paulo, in the municipalities of Americana, Cosmópolis, Iperó, Guarantã, Itapetininga, Promissão, Serrana, Ribeirão Preto, Presidente Epitácio, Araçatuba, Sete Barras, Getulina, Pedro de Toledo, and Mogi Mirim. Semi-structured interviews, participant observation, guided tours, and technical visits will be conducted in benefited settlements to assess the potential for maintenance and continuity of implemented Agroforestry Systems, as well as in industrial and commercial establishments in agrarian reform territories, as a way to establish parameters for the improvement of public policies and linked public management processes. Analysis of records and forwarding of public conferences with partner and associated institutions (INCRA and COPROCAM, respectively) will also be objects of the research.
