Abstract

There are practical problems in which stabilization is not sufficient to guarantee adequate dynamic behavior, making it necessary to impose performance constraints on the control design. In general, performance constraints aim to mitigate oscillations during the transient period or reduce the system's settling time. An efficient way to include performance constraints in the control design is through pole placement. The main contribution of this scientific initiation plan consists of studying conditions based on linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) to guarantee the regional pole placement of an uncertain linear system in a circular region of the complex plane. The region of interest is constructed aiming to reduce the settling time and the peak values in the transient period of the closed-loop system. For theoretical development, a parameter-dependent Lyapunov function will be considered. The results will be validated in practical tests in the control laboratory.
