Abstract

The objective of this project is to compare the teaching methods of mathematics considered traditional in Brazil and China, from 2010 to 2023. The research aims to answer the following question: What are the characteristics of the Chinese method that differ from what we understand as traditional teaching in mathematics in the lower secondary education in Brazilian public schools? To achieve this, a bibliographic research will be conducted, analyzing specific materials on the subject, such as books, theses, and articles. This study consists of an association analysis, and the initial expected results of this comparative study may reveal distinct aspects in the methodology of mathematics teaching between Brazil and China.
