Abstract

This project aims, through a case study based on theoretical research, to investigate the process of integrating audio description into video games to make this audiovisual and interactive media more accessible to those who have visual disabilities, low vision, or blindness. Thanks to the advancements in accessibility research, some video games offer audio descriptions of their scripted moments, such as cutscenes, and trailers released as promotional material. Thus, the research will also analyze the audio descriptions of the fatalities in the game Mortal Kombat 1, released in 2023.
