Abstract

Given the historical importance of fashion in the construction of identities, the objective of this research project is to investigate the role of fashion magazines, especially Vogue Brazil and Vogue UK, in stimulating the consumption of trends originating in different social classes. Therefore, concepts about fashion and consumption are presented, their application in social groups and the influence of journalism specialized in fashion. The project aims to analyze the relationship between the aforementioned fashion magazines and consumption flows, through a bibliographical review on the subject, in-depth interviews, and ethnographic research in the editorial offices of Vogue Brazil and Vogue UK - requiring an exchange abroad for this step. With this, we hope to understand the similarities and differences with which the two magazines deal with the intersection of consumption between classes. The results of this scientific initiation research should contribute to studies in the field of Communication, particularly in relation to journalism specialized in fashion.
