Abstract

Open science is a broad movement that generally aims for open, free, and collaborative access to scientific research data, articles, software, and procedures. NeuroMat was a pioneer among the CEPIDs in adopting open science practices in its production, being a fundamental part of the research center since its inception. However, open science practices are not unanimously accepted in the academic community, and there are criticisms regarding the blind implementation of these procedures in the Global South. This project, aligned with NeuroMat's scientific dissemination center, aims to expand the scope of activities by proposing greater integration between scientific production and dissemination with scientific journalism agents and specialized press, contributing to the reflection on the role of open science in Latin America and the use of scientific communication as a foundation for science in favor of social development.
