Abstract

Bacteria have a large amount of benefits for people all around the world, from food and medicine production to helping the intestinal tract and developing plants. Therefore, the research advance on culture media for bacteria is crucial to enhance the benefits brought by these beings. Nitrogen-fixing bacteria, also known as diazotrophs, bring several benefits to vegetal growth, in particular, the biological nitrogen fixation, thus contributing for the reduction in the need for chemicals added to plant crops. For this present study, new culture media will be formulated for the growth of these bacteria, using residues/by-products and low cost nutrients in order to make diazotrophic biological inoculants an economic and more viable reality for the Brazilian agriculture.
