Abstract

The project seeks to identify the changes that have occurred in the urban space of city of Penápolis/SP in recent years. The performance of the real estate market, its dynamics and strategies are of paramount importance to understand the transformations that occurred, which initiated a process of Restructuring the city. Located in the Northwest of the State of São Paulo, linked to the Region Intermediate to Araçatuba, the city has gained, in recent years, prominence for the expansion of its trade and consumption, which generates a centrality in relation to the smaller cities around, such as Alto Alegre (SP), Avanhandava (SP), Promissão (SP), Glicério (SP), Braúna (SP), Zacarias (SP) and Barbosa (SP). Such phenomenon is due to the fact that, in recent years, new commercial points away from the center, along with new areas housing, both popular housing linked to public policies and of Closed Residential Spaces (ERFs), a fact that marks the beginning of a fragmented spatial logic. The present work will aim to analyze, through a bibliographical review, tables, maps, interviews and documents officials the restructuring process of the city of Penápolis/SP in recent years, linked to new real estate dynamics and defining a new logic of spatial organization.
