Abstract

The heat island has been one of the most detected and studied phenomenon among all climate changes caused by the city. In Brazil, characterized by high temperatures and inadequately planned cities, this phenomenon is accentuated. The constant urban environmental degradation and its effects on city life leads the academic and scientific community to make many efforts in order to guide the planning for urban growth and mitigate the impacts in areas already affected by environmental problems. The aim of this subproject is to improve the thesis developed in Brazil, entitled "Urban climate in Penápolis: analysis of intra-urban temperature and humidity " through the knowledge of theoretical and methodological procedures developed in GEOCLIMA, laboratory of Autonomous University of Madrid/Spain, and the use of statistical techniques for processing climatological data.
