Abstract

With the advancement of CAD / CAM (Computer Aided Design / Computer Aided Manufacturing) technology, dental resins were developed for use in three -dimensional (3D) printing. There is an interest in investigating whether shaping the surface by plasma film deposition is able to preserve its mechanical and optical properties under conditions of extreme temperature variation. The aim of this in vitro study is to evaluate the effect of a plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition silicon oxide on the surface of three resins, processed by milling technique (cerasmart) or 3D printing (resin varseosmile Crown Plus and prizma 3D BioCrown) in the mechanical and optical properties of these resins. From the preparation of 424 samples, the following analyzes will be performed before and after the deposition of the film by plasma and, before and after artificial aging in thermocycling: characterization of the surface of the material by scanning electron microscopy-energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and by micro-Raman spectroscopy; degree of conversion by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy; biaxial flexural strength and modulus of elasticity; Knoop surface microhardness; surface roughness; color stability, translucency parameter and fluorescence analysis. Thermocycling artificial aging will be performed by 30,000 5-second bath cycles of 5º and 55ºC. The values obtained will be submitted to the test of adherence to the normal curve, with analysis of variance (ANOVA) and parametric statistical tests with a significance level of 5% for normal distributions. Non-parametric tests will be applied when distributions are non-normal.
