Analysis of patients undergoing pharmacological treatment for obesity and its effects on quality of life

Abstract

Obesity is a Public Health problem and has multiple causal factors. This study aims to investigate patients with obesity who use medications to lose weight and maintain weight loss, in addition to their possible effects on quality of life. Individuals will be invited to participate in the study voluntarily and online, via a Google Forms link. Data will be collected using two questionnaires validated for Portuguese, the Food Consumption Frequency Questionnaire - QFCA (Sichieri; Everhart, 1998) and the adapted Oral Health Impact Profile (OHIP-14) (Oliveira; Nadanovsky, 2005), plus demographic data of the sample, systemic impairments, pharmacological treatments of obesity and their effects. Descriptive and analytical statistical analysis will be carried out, using chi-square, T test and Poisson regression, with a significance level of 5%.
