Abstract

In the 19th century, the traditional and proper definition of "correction" - putting someone back on the correct path - was part of a broader semantic constellation, identifiable mainly by the term "education". Both the minor guilty of a crime and the minor of parental correction deserve correction through education, here understood stricto sensu as "instruction". The work of Scientific Initiation (IC) scholarship holders will be to identify the penetration of the notion of education-instruction in institutions dedicated to the correction of minors.
