Abstract

This research project seeks to analyze and discuss the topic of menarche and its impacts on the experience of reorganizing an adolescent's identity. This is an exploratory study that uses an integrative review of the literature on the topic, together with psychoanalytic theoretical texts, aiming to investigate the phenomenon of menstruation in adolescent development. The scarcity of research and literature on this phenomenon makes it difficult to understand its relationships with women's subjectivation, and prevents the improvement of interventions carried out with adolescents and women regarding menstrual experiences. The author's intention is to expand the discussion on the topic, taking psychoanalysis as a guiding perspective for understanding the phenomenon in the context of human development and its social interactions, and encouraging new debates and research.
