Abstract Models of interacting systems are applicable in several areas because they deal with various stochastic processes, with the Ising model of magnetism as a canonical reference. Their study usually uses theoretical-analytical methods, deriving their properties through probability theory, and computational methods, reproducing their behavior through simulations. This project proposes to employ both methods to study possibilities of applying the Ising model to systems other than magnetism (e.g., biological and social), investigating variations, modifications and extensions of this model, as well as connections with other interacting systems. | |
