Abstract

This postdoctoral position will focus on two main areas: 1) understanding quantum dynamics in generic systems and 2) developing the quantum informa- tion tools to characterize dynamics and symmetry. Generic quantum systems are chaotic but it is an important question to understand which of their prop- erties are universal and which are dictated by the degree of locality, symmetry and specifics of the model and the probes used. Quantum information con- cepts like complexity are powerful tools for such analysis. Beyond dynamics, quantum information concepts are also important for kinematically character- izing the properties of rich physical systems with many degrees of freedom. We will tackle these conceptually related questions with a variety of analytical and numerical techniques across different settings. Our work is expected to have a multidisciplinary impact across the fields of high energy physics, condensed matter physics and quantum information.
