Abstract

The research aims to analyze the historical process of creation and consolidation of the Diretoria de Esportes do Estado São Paulo (DE-SP), a public administration body responsible for managing the sport in São Paulo between 1939 and 1945. The time cutout is justified by the year of creation of DE-SP and ends in the year of the end of the Estado Novo. On the other hand, the spatial scope covers the state of São Paulo, as DE-SP was responsible for directing the sport throughout the territory of São Paulo. The historical methodology uses as sources the São Paulo press and legislative documents of the time. The survey of sources will be carried out using the term "Diretoria de Esportes" in the database of Hemeroteca Digital da Biblioteca Nacional do Brasil and in the Acervo Histórico da Assembleia Legislativa do Estado de São Paulo.
