Abstract The capacity of transferring the information of a quantum state between two distinct sites without transporting the system itself defines the idea of teleportation, a resource that overcomes the limitation of reading and writing a quantum state, given by the no-cloning theorem. This process relies on the shared information of an entangled pair between two remote stations to perform the transfer protocol. We developed a technique for the transferring of quantum information of a light field between distinct ranges of the electromagnetic spectra. With this technique, we can overcome losses in transmission, using the clear bandwidth of the L-telecom band to transfer information generated by an atomic ensemble (in this case, from the D1 line of 87_Rb atoms. | |
