Abstract

This project aims to propose digital environments for approaching complex socio-environmental problems. The object of the research is collaborative software and emerging technologies that enhance the approach to socio-environmental complexity in the teaching and learning of primary school students. Digital environments will be understood as the combination of different collaborative software and technologies, even if not integrated, which enable interaction, authorship, and the construction of representations for the organization and recording of socio-environmental narratives and discussions between students and teachers. The working hypothesis is that using such environments in the school context corroborates the definition of complex thinking, conceptualized by Edgar Morin, whose characteristics are collectivity, multi-dimensionality, and reality expressed and constructed from relationships. In this way, the digital environments compiled and analyzed in this research will foster more systemic discussions of students' daily lives and how they can use them to lead to greater autonomy in the analysis and resolution of problems. The final product will be the proposition, description, and suggestion of some digital environments and examples of socio-environmental pedagogical practices applied in Basic Education.
