Abstract

Considering the increase in the collection of toys, statues and action figures by adults, the research carried out in Brazil aimed to understand why there are so many people who collect, what the meanings behind this practice are and what would lead them to collect. After conducting interviews with five collectors, the results obtained can be analyzed both from a psychoanalytical perspective, which is what the main project proposes, and from the perspective of the analysis of playful in the context of digital culture employed by toy researcher Katriina Heljakka in Finland. In this sense, this project aims to analyze the material collected in Brazil with the perspective of another country, in the studies of digital culture. In addition, to enable the exchange of knowledge between Unesp and the University of Turku, enabling future partnerships.
