Abstract

The recently proposed B-RNS-GSS formalism for the superstring combines features of the Pure Spinor (B), Ramond-Neveu-Schwarz (RNS) and Green-Schwarz-Siegel (GSS) formalisms. The goal of the research project is to develop the program of using this new formalism as a ``bridge'' between the more widely known formulations, hopefully providing a deeper understanding of the underlying principles of String Theory along the way. More precisely, we plan to establish a prescription to compute scattering amplitudes using the B-RNS-GSS formalism, building upon recent advances on formal aspects of RNS superstring perturbation theory and on D-instanton contributions achieved by the host researcher and his group. We also intend to better understand what benefits does this new formalism offer to the description of strings in curved backgrounds, making contact with previous work on RR backgrounds and on the 2d CFT bootstrap done by the host researcher and his group.
