Abstract

The project seeks to understand how heparin interacts with antithrombin, a key protein in the coagulation process, and how this interaction affects antithrombin's ability to inhibit angiogenic processes, such as the formation of new blood vessels. Studies suggest that chemical modification of heparin can alter antithrombin's antiangiogenic activity, pointing to a potential therapeutic approach to regulate angiogenesis in pathological conditions.
