Abstract

In this research, we will examine the relationship between the concepts of phenomenologicalpsychology and phenomenology in Edmund Husserl. Seeking to distinguish between these twoconcepts, we propose that this phenomenological psychology allows Husserl to thematize therealm of the spirit with greater rigor and refinement, so as to provide a basis for both knowledge ingeneral and an investigation appropriate to that of the spirit and spiritual formations. To do this,we investigate what phenomenological psychology or pure psychology would be for Husserl, andwhat role he gives this psychology, as an eidetic material regional ontology of the region ofconsciousness, in his phenomenological system. The central questions guiding our research are tounderstand the distinctions between phenomenology and pure psychology, seeking to distinguishthem by their methodologies, functions and the object of study of these disciplines, especially interms of the methods of reduction specifics to each of them. In addition, we are interested ininvestigating how pure psychology deals with the themes of the spirit, presenting the eideticaspects of the realm of the spirit that distinguish it from the realm of nature, thus groundinginvestigations of the spirit. This research into the characterization of pure psychology will allow usto understand the way in which Husserl is able to absorb the results obtained through purepsychology into his transcendental phenomenology, understanding how Husserl's approach to subjectivity becomes more complex over the course of his philosophical production.
