Abstract

Starting from the very few architectural elements (bases, columns, capitals, cornices) published, in a chaotic and scattered manner, we will focus both on the unpublished objects from the theaters of Taormina, Catania, the "Gymnasium" of Syracuse and the numerous architectural elements preserved in museums, lacking a context of origin. The architectural elements will be catalogued and analyzed using the methodologies outlined below, with the aim of understanding the impact and intervention of the Severan dynasty, the provenance of the models and the workers.
