Abstract

This research project aims to evaluate the effect of aging methods on the mechanicaland optical/esthetic properties of the surface of 3D printing resins indicated for"permanent" indirect restorations. Three 3D printing resins will be evaluated in thisstudy: Prizma BioCrown; Smart Print Vitality and Varseo Smile Crown and samples ofthese materials will be prepared in a Photon 3D printer (NextDent 5100; Cara Print 4.0).A CAD/CAM resin will be the "Control" material (Estelite Block). Two types of agingwill be used in this study: thermocycling (10,000 cycles) and exposure to ultravioletlight (200 hours). Some of the samples will not be subjected to artificial aging and willserve as Control. For the analysis of mechanical properties (flexural strength andmodulus of elasticity), samples will be made in bar shape (15 x 2 x 2mm) and tested in auniversal testing machine (Instron 4411) (n=15). For optical/esthetic properties (glossand color stability), samples will be evaluated in a gloss meter (Novo-Cure) andspectrophotometer (Easyshade V), respectively (n=10). All data will be tested fordistribution and homoscedasticity, followed by appropriate statistical analyses (¿=0.05).
