Abstract

The emergence of the Web raised questions related to the organization and representation of information shared in Web 2.0 environments. Information Science, which interprets the "collective intelligence" of the Web as a communication space that must be preserved, has dedicated itself to studying resources in use so that the description and preservation of information can be carried out efficiently, effectively and effectively. in the plurality of contemporary supports. Access to Memory and Archivematica are free software in perpetual beta developed by the company Artefactual together with the International Archive Council and are applicable in the curation and preservation of information and digital objects in cultural facilities such as libraries, archives and museums. A growing number of international and national institutions have used convergence between the two systems. The Fundação Instituto Arquitecto José Marques da Silva on the international scene and the Fundação Oswaldo Cruz nationally use the convergence between the aforementioned software as a means of preserving and digitally curating the multimedia and documentary collection. In this context, the present research aims to analyze, as a result, the existing convergences between software applicable to Information Science, covering issues of Information Design and Digital Curation for library collections and other cultural equipment. The methodology used is theoretical-exploratory and descriptive, based on a literature review and analysis of the mentioned web environments. This research is justified by the convergence between the free software Access to Memory and Archivematica in Information Science, enabling digital access and preservation.
