Abstract

Introduction: The importance of sexual health for the longevity of individuals has been widely recognized in recent years. Sexual health refers to a state of physical, emotional, and social well-being in relation to sexuality. In this context, the relevance of female sexual dysfunction (FSD) stands out, for which hormone replacement therapy is the first treatment option. However, some cases contraindicate its use. Objective: To evaluate the scientific evidence, safety and efficacy of the use of non-hormonal therapies in the treatment of FSD in postmenopausal women. Methods: A systematic review will be carried out using an electronic search strategy through the PubMed platform, using keywords as a basis. Study selection: will be conducted by reviewers and will include randomized/non-randomized clinical trials and prospective studies, published in the last 10 years, in English and Portuguese, with postmenopausal women. Data extraction: Will be performed through the Rayaan platform, in pairs. Articles that meet the inclusion criteria will be pre-selected for abstract reading, and some will then be read in full for study development. Quality assessment and data analysis: The data quality will be assessed and analyzed to conclude on the strength of evidence and applicability of non-hormonal methods in the treatment of FSD. It is expected to obtain data that clarifies the quality of evidence on the use of non-hormonal methods so that it can guide the recommendation or not of treatment for climacteric women.
