Abstract

This PhD project aims to investigate the structure and function of disordered proteins in the cellular context, characterizing them in solution and examining their interaction with phospholipid bilayers that simulate the plasma membrane and other organelles. To this end, advanced and consolidated techniques for the study of nanostructures will be used, including low angle scattering (SAS), synchrotron radiation circular dichroism (SRCD), and fluorescence. By understanding the structural arrangements of these biomolecules, we aim to elucidate their functional role, associated with their disordered characteristics and interaction with membranes. This DD project is linked to the Fapesp thematic project (2022/07231-7) "Plasticity and Functional Modulation of Intrinsically Disordered Proteins", which began on 01/03/24.
