Abstract The objective of this study is to evaluate the stress distribution around dental implants using compatible prosthetic abutments from different commercial brands of Morse taper implants through photoelastic analysis. This study will be designed to analyze the stress distribution around dental implants supporting single-unit prostheses under axial and oblique loading. Three photoelastic models (n=1 per group) will be prepared, each containing a Morse taper (MT) implant measuring ø4mm x 13mm. The groups will be formed as follows: G1 with a Neodent MT abutment, G2 with a Sin MT abutment, and G3 with a multi-brand abutment. All selected components will be compatible with MT implants featuring an internal taper of 11.5°. The implant-supported prostheses installed on the photoelastic models will be subjected to a 100N load applied axially and obliquely. Data will be evaluated both qualitatively and quantitatively. The qualitative analysis will describe the fringes formed in the photoelastic block, noting the fringe order and the direction of stress propagation. Quantitative stress analysis will be performed using the table recommended by ASTM D4093-95, which correlates isochromatic fringe colors with numerical stress values. This study aims to understand the effect of using abutments from different brands than the implant on the stress distribution around dental implants. | |
