Abstract

The First Ties Program, initiated by the University of São Paulo in 2015, involves home visits by trained nurses to support adolescents during their first pregnancy and their children, focusing on the socio-emotional and cognitive development of the children. This qualitative study aims to evaluate the experiences of pregnant and adolescent mothers participating in the program, as well as the perspectives of managers and nurses involved in the program's implementation in Jaguariúna and Indaiatuba, with the goal of expanding it to the Unified Health System (SUS). Semi-structured interviews will be conducted with 30 program participants and 20 healthcare professionals, addressing the challenges and necessary adaptations for the successful implementation of the intervention at a population level. Thematic analysis will be used to interpret the qualitative data, providing an in-depth understanding of the factors that influence the program's effectiveness and identifying knowledge gaps and areas of uncertainty, such as the high dropout rates observed.
