Abstract

The aim of this research is to carry out in line with the premises of the Water Producer Program (PPA) and the Payment for Environmental Services (PSA), proposed by the National Water Agency (ANA), to promote a methodological tool for the Sustainable Development (EDS), from Geosciences Education and Geoethics. The qualitative research will adopt the case study for which the PPA scenarios were defined in two distinct municipalities, both included in the Macrometróple Paulista (MMP): Salesópolis, a component of the Alto Tietê River Basin Committee (CBH-AT), and Jundiaí, a member of the Piracicaba-Capivari-Jundiaí River Basin Committee (CBH-PCJ). Two approaches will be developed, one social, focused on the development of the PPA through a socioenvironmental mapping with the actors involved; the second one, based on the evaluation of the quality of water resources in rural properties, before and after the mapping to identify problems and propose solutions. The application of both approaches will allow to identify economic and social factors associated with the projects developed within the PPA, as well as to develop tools for evaluation and available alternatives, including the challenges of persuasion and implementation among social actors.
