Abstract

Inclusive Education is part of a global strategy that demands the continuous restructuring of cultures, policies, and practices throughout the school system. However, despite the advances achieved, actions are necessary to ensure its expansion and equitable implementation. Thus, the use of standardized instruments for evaluating school resources and processes can support the development of parameters for monitoring inclusion levels and targeted interventions. This research project aims to describe and compare the Support Services for Inclusive Education (SAEI), provided by regular classroom teachers and members of the multidisciplinary team in two countries, Brazil and Portugal. This is an exploratory and descriptive, cross-sectional survey-type research at the international level in schools in Brazil and Portugal. Participants in this study will include teachers and members of the multidisciplinary team from public schools in the State of São Paulo, Brazil, and Portugal. In both countries, data will be collected online using an electronic form composed of: 1) Participant School Characterization Form (PSCF); 2) Sociodemographic Information Questionnaire (SIQ-Professionals); 3) Sociodemographic Information Questionnaire (SIQ-Teachers); and 4) Questionnaire on Resources and Practices for Inclusive Education (QPIE). The PSCF and SIQs for teachers and professionals will be accounted for and organized by relative frequency to characterize the schools and participants. Additionally, statistical analyses will be conducted comparing the mean scores of the QPIE for the two groups, professionals and teachers, as well as for teachers and other professionals from Brazil and Portugal. Parametric or non-parametric statistical analyses will be used depending on the number of participants or the normality of the data. Keywords: School inclusion; Special education; Multidisciplinary team; Collaborative work; School evaluation.
