Abstract

This project aimed to develop a nanoparticle with pH-responsive andmucoadhesion for application as a carrier of the drug praziquantel aiming for its application intreatment of parasites in tambaqui Colossoma macropomum from fish farming. To thenanoparticles will be produced using chitosan and alginate biopolymers through thecomplex coacervation preparation together with the drug. After lyophilization to obtainof powdered nanoparticles, they will be administered orally to fish in threedrug concentrations to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment, as well as its possibletoxicity. Treatment will be evaluated by parasitic indices and toxicity by histology andintestinal immunohistology and hemato-immunology.
