Abstract

Grounded in the theoretical and methodological framework of the Bakhtin Circle philosophy of language, the ongoing research conducted in Brazil aims to analyze how the intersections of race, gender, and class (the race-gender-class knot) embodied in the Harry Potter literary series are portrayed in its film adaptations (Warner Bros., 2001-2011), focusing on the valorative expressivity of their verbivocovisual constitution. This research internship project abroad, mostly theoretical and bibliographic, seeks to deepen the bakhtinian notions of artistic form and aesthetic finalization, specifically in relation to the distinct features of cinematography language and the fantasy genre. These notions encompass a unique way of reflecting, refracting, and (re)configuring social issues through a worldview (an authorial and generic project of saying).
