Abstract

This study aims to formulate experimental solutions containing different active ingredients (LPP: sodium linear polyphosphate, and DCPD: dihydrated dicalcium phosphate) isolated, associated with fluoride (F-, as NaF) and fluoride/tin (Sn2+, as SnCl2), and to evaluate the effectiveness of these formulations on erosive tooth wear. The ability of this vehicle to prevent erosive tooth wear on enamel and dentin will be analyzed after a 5-day erosive/abrasive cycling, and profilometer analysis will be performed. Specimens of each substrate (4 mm × 4 mm × 2 mm), obtained from bovine incisors, will be planed, polished, and randomly allocated into 9 experimental groups (n=10/substrate): 1. Distilled water; 2. F; 3. F+Sn; 4. LPP; 5. LPP+F; 6. LPP+F+Sn; 7. DCPD; 8. DCPD+F; 9. DCPD+F+Sn. The erosion-abrasion cycling will consist of 2 minutes of immersion in a 1% citric acid solution, followed by immersion in artificial saliva for 60 minutes, 4 times daily. Brushing will be performed using a brushing machine with soft brushes and a suspension of toothpaste and artificial saliva in a ratio of 1:3, twice a day, followed by exposure to the experimental solution. After cycling, the specimens will be analyzed for surface loss (in ¿m). The data obtained will be statistically analyzed, considering a significant level of 5%.
