Abstract

This project proposes an international cooperation study, based on the Research Internship Abroad Grant (BEPE), linked to the Scientific Initiation project, with the support of FAPESP (nº2024/17568-4) in the undergraduate program in Architecture and Urbanism (UNESP). We propose a plan of technical visits to Spanish railway museums, in order to know and evaluate the main design elements reflected in the processes of belonging, use and cultural mediation in the museological activities developed. For this, we will count on the assistance of Prof. Dr. Enrique Larive López, from the University of Seville, who will assist us in the design analyses of belonging and use, as well as the studies of the processes of conception, production and operation of the layouts of these buildings. The technical visits aim to deepen comparative analyses in already established cases in the cities of Madrid, Seville and Barcelona, focusing on factors associated with the intertwining between cultural mediation, belonging, use and the museum environment, ultimately generating possible ways of applying these experiences to the reality of São Paulo in railway museums. During the stay abroad, we intend to establish contact with relevant railway museum projects in order to delve deeper into the concept of heritage, city, landscape and collective memorial; recognize intervention projects in industrial heritage at different territorial scales, visualized through technical visits; consolidate and expand the exchange of technical knowledge with other Spanish researchers; and carry out a joint international research effort that provides significant advances and conclusive actions, both in methodological terms and also for solutions or alternatives within the scope of this research.
