Abstract

The Oceanographic Center for Stratigraphic Records (CORE), through this project, seeks to strengthen its recognition as a center of excellence in paleoceanography, especially for companies that can contract its services and for society in general. The project to which this Science Journalism Fellowship is linked investigates paleoceanographic changes throughout the Cenozoic, driven by long- and short-term climate forcings, through the analysis of the Brazil Margin, to produce a unique paleoclimatic archive. The objective of this project is to strengthen CORE's recognition as a reference in paleoceanography for companies in the oceanographic sector, increase public engagement with CORE's social media, measured by likes, comments, and shares, by 20% in 6 months, and disseminate knowledge about CORE's research to society by publishing 2 science outreach articles in high-reach magazines or newspapers within 6 months.
