Abstract

This project aims to analyze the performance of children from different age groups in tasks that assess the manifestation of four distinct prosodic functions in speech production: illocutionary force, turn-taking marking, prominence marking, and stress marking. The goal is to compare the speech production performance of children from different age groups, as well as to identify the age range in which the acquisition of a particular skill occurs. For the development of this study, speech samples will be collected from children, divided into groups according to their age, obtained through four experiments to be applied in spontaneous pragmatic situations. The results will be analyzed qualitatively, based on prosodic categories to characterize speech production, and quantitatively, through a numerical scale with a total score. (AU)
