Abstract

To analyze the changes produced in the academic and institutional field of universities by the entry of indigenous and quilombola people into the political-academic dialogue, whether through the admission of students and retention programs, or through other forms of recognition, such as the awarding of doctoral titles for renowned knowledge, the creation of indigenous and quilombola chairs, curricular changes, the creation of quotas for professors, among others. To investigate how such initiatives have impacted the University specifically, in administrative and budgetary terms, but also more broadly, by proposing and provoking transformations in its concepts of science and authorship, in the organization of special training paths and in the reorganization of courses, in the alteration of course bibliographies or even in the processes and criteria for evaluating academic performance. This research therefore seeks to analyze the effects of the indigenous and quilombola presence on the institutional life of universities and on academic production in different fields of knowledge, based on studies conducted at two universities that stand out for their initiatives in this regard: UnB and UFOPA.
