Abstract

I seek to understand how journalistic work is appropriated by platforms, by comparing data collection in two distinct work organizations: journalists in a traditional media outlet and in an independent arrangement. I seek to articulate the idea of journalists work with the complexity imposed by platform capitalism and the datafication of the profession, which affects the creation of digital professional identities.
