Abstract

Intimate partner violence (IPV) is defined as any violent act carried out by one party to an intimate relationship. Exposure to IPV is related to several psychological symptoms, including emotional dysregulation. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy is a type of talk therapy that aims to expand the behavioral repertoire of emotional regulation, through resources such as skills training (ST), which can be used in the context of IPV. The ST aimed at victims of IPV has some manuals and protocols used in other countries, showing evidence of improvements in participants' symptoms. In Brazil, no studies in this regard were identified. Therefore, the objective of the present study will be to culturally adapt an online eight-session ST program for victims of IPV, currently applied abroad. To this end, the following will be carried out: 1) application of the adapted protocol to a sample of three women victims of IPV; and 2) evaluate the evidence of intervention effectiveness, based on pre-test, intermediate test and post-test measurements of the participating women. A multiple probe baseline design will be used. Evidence of effectiveness of the pilot application of the program will be analyzed by comparing pre-test and post-test measures using the JT method. (AU)
