Abstract

Algae, in addition to having a high nutritional level, present different classes of compounds with biological properties and represent a resource of high added value with numerous application possibilities, from a source of biopolymers to the production of biostimulants that can be applied in agriculture. With regard to nanotechnology, this science has been developing and has been used for the development of new formulations and products, among which are metallic nanoparticles obtained by green synthesis, which have been standing out for their low cost and toxicity, and for forming particles containing natural compounds efficiently, standing out in the area of ¿¿green chemistry that is correlated with the sustainable development goals (SDGs) and contributing to the eco-friendly movement. In view of this, the project focuses on determining the compounds present in algae biomass and their biological properties, in addition to developing a method for forming silver nanoparticles and evaluating the antioxidant and antiglycation activities of algae biomass extracts and the nanoparticles obtained. The present work aims to develop a method for obtaining silver nanoparticles containing bioreductive compounds from algae biomass, through green synthesis nanobiotechnology. It also aims to determine the total phenol and flavonoid content of algae biomass extracts and the nanoparticles obtained. (AU)
