Abstract

Uterine leiomyosarcoma (LMS) is a rare and aggressive tumor with a poor prognosisdue to its resistance to conventional treatments and high recurrence rates. Whilemutations in genes such as CREBBP, NOTCH2, ATM, and GNAS have been implicatedin various cancers, their specific role in LMS remains unclear. This study aims toinvestigate the role of microRNAs in regulating these key genes, focusing on thedifferential expression of microRNAs in LMS. The research will correlate microRNAaction with the expression profiles of CREBBP, NOTCH2, ATM, and GNAS genes, utilizing advanced techniques such as quantitative Real-Time PCR and geneticsequencing. Conducted at the University of Chicago, this project will employ Sangersequencing and statistical analysis to validate biomarkers for early diagnosis andtherapeutic monitoring. The findings aim to provide deeper insights into the molecularmechanisms underlying LMS, uncover novel therapeutic targets, and contribute to moreeffective treatment strategies. (AU)
