Abstract

Bone regeneration is a significant challenge in regenerative medicine, particularly in degenerative conditions and critical-sized defects, where the body's natural repair capacity is limited. In this context, biomimetic biomaterials have emerged as promising alternatives for tissue reconstruction, providing both structural support and essential biological stimuli for the regenerative process. Addressing this need, this project proposes the development of a composite based on the association between monetite, a bioabsorbable calcium phosphate, and platelet-rich plasma (PRP), an autologous blood derivative rich in osteoinductive growth factors. Monetite will be synthesized using the coprecipitation method, structurally and morphologically characterized, and combined with lyophilized PRP to enhance its bioactivity. The physicochemical and biological properties of the composite will be evaluated through in vitro tests using MC3T3-E1 pre-osteoblastic cells to investigate its ability to stimulate cell differentiation and bone mineralization. The interdisciplinary approach of this study, combining regenerative medicine and biotechnology, aims to develop a personalized biomaterial with high biocompatibility and translational potential for clinical applications. The expected outcomes include optimizing the concentrations of monetite and PRP, representing a significant advancement in biomaterials engineering for bone regeneration.
