Abstract

Two-dimensional magnetic materials are interesting systems for both fundamental physics and for possible applications spintronics/optoeletronics devices and quantum technologies. The Raman spectroscopy is a powerful method for investigating properties of 2D magnets, such as magnons and spin-lattice interaction, which are hardly accessible by other optical methods. In this research project, we intend to investigate optical properties of materials/heterostructures based on 2Ds magnetic materials using the Raman spectroscopy technique at different temperatures. Despite several recent theoretical predictions of non-trivial magnetism and magnons in 2Ds magnets materials/heterostructures, the experimental realization of engineering the degree of freedom of spin by rotating layers in these systems remains still unexplored. Here, we intend to identify new magnetic states in twisted heterostructures, evidence magnetic phase transitions, investigate spin-lattice interaction, probe symmetry changes induced by spin ordering, magneto-phonon Raman scattering and etc in several materials/heterostructures based on emerging ferromagnetic (FM)/antiferromagnetic (AFM) 2D semiconductor materials such as CrPS4, CoPS3, CrSBr and etc.
