Abstract

Carbon capture, whether from the atmosphere or from industrial combustion, has been widely discussed due to climate change. CO2 adsorption processes are particularly interesting in the industrial context because of their relative ease of implementation in already-built sites. These processes involve regenerating the porous adsorbent matrix by changing the temperature, known as Thermal Swing Adsorption (TSA), and pressure, known as Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA). Given the need to model this process, this project will develop a simulation code for the transport phenomena involved, using numerical methods, with the aim of understanding the capabilities of this decarbonization method.
