Abstract

Given the recent technological advances, Volumetric Media is poised to become a very in-demand form of content. It also has very stringent network requirements, making its support a challenge for the upcoming sixth generation of telecommunications. Thus, a strong basis is needed in order to test the future frameworks, to predict how this new form of content will act on the global network, and to project which improvements are needed for our current infrastructure.This BEPE proposal aims to develop further improvements to an application currently being developed within SMARTNESS, created to test and evaluate multiple media transmission protocols, allowing for a demonstration of how such volumetric media would behave in the future. By collaborating with SPIRIT, we will be able to draw more accurate conclusions regarding the behaviour of this type of communication. (AU)
